Entrepreneurial Mindset in Practice: Interview with Barbara Kurshan
In this episode, we speak with Dr. Barbara “Bobbi” Kurshan. Bobbi is an education entrepreneur and an expert on how innovation and technology are transforming teaching and learning.
She has spent more than 30 years working in, and researching, the education marketplace. Bobbi is a Senior Fellow and Innovation Advisor who launched the nation’s first master’s program in education entrepreneurship; introduced the VOLT program for online teaching; and has overseen the Milken-Penn GSE Education Business Plan Competition, the largest education business plan competition in the country.
She has also contributed significant research and thought leadership on innovation in education ecosystems. She maintains a regular blog on Forbes.com about educational technologies, the educational technology ecosystem, OER, and investing in education.
Bobbi shares how she got started in this work and how she's built her career around supporting entrepreneurs in education. Her perspective encompasses both the academic lens and profiling organizations and women who are successfully applying the entrepreneurial mindset into their work.
